Pool Manager- Grade 5 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: This position is responsible for the daily operation of the City pool and related facilities. The work includes supervision and training of a large staff, supervision and safety of patrons, promotion and implementation of programs, public relations and daily facility maintenance.

Position Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Minimum 21 years of age

3. Experience of no less than 2 years as an employee of a parks and recreation pool facility or related business or service, to include supervisory and management responsibility for at least 1 year

4. Knowledge and level of certification and competency associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with water safety instruction training and pool operations

Assistant Pool Manager- Grade 4 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: This position is responsible for assisting the Pool Manager in completing the daily operations of the City pool and related facilities. The work includes supervision and training of a large staff, supervision and safety of patrons, promotion and implementation of programs, public relations and daily facility maintenance.

Position Minimum Qualifications:

1)High school diploma or equivalent

2) Minimum 21 years of age or at least 3 seasons of employment with leadership responsibilities at MHP&R pool facility

3) Experience of no less than one year as an employee of a pool facility or related business service, to include some supervisory responsibilities

4) Knowledge and level of certification and competency associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with water safety instruction training and pool operations

Lifeguard I- Grade 1 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: This position is responsible for pool patron supervision as well as recognizing and eliminating hazardous conditions or behaviors that could result in injury. The lifeguard must be prepared to react in an emergency situation and provide appropriate emergency care when needed.

Position Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Minimum age requirement is sixteen years of age

2. Work availability for at least 50 days of the 100 pool operation

3. Sufficient ability to understand and demonstrate basic skills relevant to the duties of the position

Recreation Aide I- Grade 1 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: This position is responsible for supervision of park patrons (predominately youth ages 8-14) participating in recreational programs at the youth center and other park fields and facilities. This position provides a support base to the Manager of Youth Services in the implementation of programs and events as well as the general operation and maintenance of park facilities and grounds.

Position Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Minimum 15 years of age

2. Basic experience working with youth

3. Ability to actively participate in recreation programs

Recreation Aide II- Grade 2 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: This position is responsible for supervision of park patrons (predominately youth ages 8-14) participating in recreational programs. This position provides a support base of assistance to the Manager of Youth Services in the planning and implementation of programs and events as well as the general operation and maintenance of park facilities and grounds.

Position Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Minimum 21 years of age

2. Minimum of one year training or education in recreation programming or related field

3. Minimum one year work experience in recreation programming or related field

4. Experience working with youth of all ages

5. Available to work an irregular schedule at least 20 hours per week

6. Valid State of Arkansas driver's license

Laborer- Grade 1 (Part-time/ Seasonal)

Position Description: The work of this position involves performing the routine manual labor to accomplish the basic overall daily maintenance and care of all city park grounds and facilities.

Position Minimum Qualifications: 

1) Ability to read and write, and perform mathematical calculations necessary for the completion of the work

2) Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

3) Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment to be operated

Recreation Program Coordinator- Grade 12 (Full-Time)

Position Description: The Recreation Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing, planning, and implementing
recreational activities for people of all ages. The incumbent will also build and maintain partnerships, with local
schools, businesses and organizations

Position Minimum Qualifications: 

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. No less than two years additional educational training or work experience in the field of parks and recreation or other related field
3. Experience working with the public
4. Experience working with youth of all ages
5. Experience in planning, implementing, scheduling, and publicizing public events and programs
6. Valid State of Arkansas driver's license
