U.S. Small Business Administration is providing a disaster loan program for Baxter County homeowners, renters, business owners and nonprofits who have been impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that hit the area from May 24-27, 2024.

Some of the key points of an SBA disaster loan are:
 - There is no cost to apply and there is no obligation to take the loan, if approved.
 - In addition, there is no repayment requirement for the first 12 months.
 - Interest does not accrue for the first 12 months.
 - The interest rates are as low as 2.688% for homeowners and renters, as low as 4% for business and as low as 3.25% for nonprofit organizations.
