Street Committee Meeting
March 8, 2016 - 12:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m.
Present were Amon Tilley, Director of Streets; Rick Pierce,
Dave Almond, Carl Graves and Don Webb, Committee Members.
The Street Report for February, 2016 was reviewed.
Amon reported Phase 2 of the Waverly Road project was going well and to date the cost of the project is at
$464,831.33; a crew has started working on the box culvert at the creek at McCabe Park, and currently, this
project is at a cost of $272,235.53.
The Committee briefly discussed the theft of one of the Street Departments traffic counters. It was replaced after
reimbursement from the insurance company.
Amon advised the Committee the new trucks that were out for State Bid are at a cost of $32,926 each. He said if
purchased locally, the cost would be $32,300.
Rick spoke of receiving information from the State regarding grants for recreational trails. He said he’d like the
Committee to research further for possible bike/walking paths. Amon said there are informational seminars
scheduled later this month in Little Rock.
